This first collection by Jack C Buck is uncompromising and hopeful. Split into three sections, the poems come together to form a narrative that takes us from the lake people of Minnesota Wisconsin Michigan to the mountains of the southwest.

I can’t decide whether its the bittersweet nostalgia or the warm autumn undertones that make each micro poem so effective. This collection seems like it would pair nicely with coffee and cold breezes. The highlight of Buck’s work is his innate ability to make each word count with such little time and space to do so.
