Claire Hopple is a just steel town girl on a Saturday night. What that means: She is originally from the rural outskirts of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and has since relocated to a number of places, ultimately settling in Asheville, North Carolina.

This might sound too much like Seinfeld, but her writing is about nothing. As in not heavily tied to plot. She likes to write dialogue and short, crisp scenes that make people relate to each other and realize they’re not crazy.
She has a marketing job in the daytime and eats, reads, and hikes in the evenings/on weekends. She doesn’t do anything cool but will occasionally try to prove otherwise on Instagram.

Some of her favorite authors include Amelia Gray, Zach VandeZande, Lorrie Moore, Deborah Eisenberg, Scott McClanahan, Laura van den Berg, Joan Didion, Jonathan Lethem, Denis Johnson, and a whole bunch more.

She’s finishing up Optic Nerve by Maria Gainza right now and is feeling pretty good about it.
