Gladly I will go get you the moon,
and I will put it into your new apartment,
so that you will not be so afraid of the dark.
While I am up there, I will break off
a piece of the sun, and I will fold it
into your fireplace, so that your home
is always bright and warm and inviting.
While I run these errands for you, I
will tuck you into the crescent of the
Little Dipper, so that you might always
see where I am and know the speed with
which I chase the constellations back to you.
I have loved you since before you were a
twinkle, and I will love you long after we
return to stardust.
